The ML-2 Metal Core is BOSS's latest toy for the metalheads. In the tradition of the MT-2, you get a whole lot of gain from one tiny pedal. The ML-2 provides a modern, heavy distortion suited well to today's metal scene. It's crisp and sharp - no trouble cutting through the mix with this, but if you're actually stepping on someone else's toes then use the high and low tone controls to cut back a bit.

Seems to handle low-guitar frequencies particularly well - perfect for drop-D or 1/2-step-down tunings. If anything, the pedal may just sound too "radio-friendly" (if you can call that a problem) - the way it puts forth such brutal sounds without the murderous harshness of some other "metal" FX, it's definitely worth investing in the ML-2.
