The BOSS AC-3 Acoustic Simulator is a great solution for electric guitarists who need an acoustic sound for only one or two songs a night - why lug a round another guitar when you can just throw this thing on your pedal board and go? Even if acoustic is your primary sound, this pedal still offers plenty with its selection of guitar types, including Standard, Jumbo, Enhanced, and Piezo-equipped. The pedal is even useful for players looking for acoustic tones while maintaining the playability of an electric.

While in the studio it's unlikely you'd ever want to use this over a nice authentic Martin (or whatever you like), the AC-3 does have a LINE OUT jack should you find the desire to record (you can also use this feature to patch directly into a venue's sound system). If you're concerned about the "direct" sounding too harsh and unnatural, turn up the control for reverb and soften things a bit.

the jumbo setting sounds awesome. i don't use acoustic sounds except for one song we do, but this thing works just perfect for what i need playing live. way easier than lugging around another guitar when i can just slap this down in my board.
